History of The Third Age

Characters

As you travel your own path through Middle-Earth, a host of new characters will help you weave your own story. Berethor the Citadel Guard, Idrial the Elf, Elegost the Ranger, Hadhod the Dwarf, Morwen the warrior and Eaoden the Rohirrim each, in their own way, make this game what it is.

Characters are listed in the order that they join your party.

Berethor

Berethor

Race: Human, Soldier of Gondor
Weapon of Choice: Sword

Berethor is a high-ranking Knight of Gondor, one of the guards of the Citadel. After the disapperance of Boromir, Denethor summons Berethor and orders him to find Boromir. After a long journey to Rivendell only to find that Boromir has just left, Berethor sets out across Middle-Earth on his own adventure.

Berethor is your "main" character throughout the game, and most of the story surrounds his history and troubles. Though he may seem like a strong and rugged fellow for a while, there is more to this character than meets the eye. He specializes in swordcraft, and is generally more ballanced towards pure strength than magic.

Idrial

Idrial

Race: Elf, from Lothlorien
Weapon of Choice: Sword

Idrial is a wise and learned Elf from Lothlorien. News of Berethor's travels for Boromir has spread even to that far away land, and Idrial is sent to aid Berethor on his quest. She seems to know something about Berethor that she keeps hidden, but is regardless an asset to the party.

Idrial is the second character met in the story, joining your party immediately after Berethor leaves Rivendell. She is very knowledgeable, and would willingly put her life on the line for her friends. She is particularly specialized in magical abilities, though she can be an asset physically, too.

Elegost

Elegost

Race: Human, Ranger from Ithilien
Weapon of Choice: Bow

Always prepared for battle and very skilled with a bow, Elegost is one of the Rangers from Ithilien. In his search for a lost friend of his, Elegost is found lying on the ground, waiting to hunt Wargs for food. With bow in hand, he quickly becomes an asset to the entire party, wielding the ability to attack multiple targets at once and to shoot from long distances.

Elegost is party member #3, joining the group shortly before Moria. He is extremely skilled at what he does, owing to a proficiency in the arts of hiding and killing. Elegost is a well-rounded character, being fairly good with both magic and regular attacks.

Hadhod

Hadhod

Race: Dwarf
Weapon of Choice: Axe

As is with any Dwarf found in Middle-Earth, Hadhod is an ale-loving, axe-wielding powerhouse. Sources indicate that he a descendent of Fundin's Line. Hadhod is also a friend of Elegost, and for a long while travelled with him before being captured by a band of Orcs. With his axe and his defensive tactics, Hadhod is truly an asset to any party.

Hadhod appears shortly after meeting Elegost, fending for his life against a hungry Troll. He may seem rough and stubborn, but inside he clearly cares about his mission and his friends. As might be figured, Hadhod is a master of physical combat, though does have some magical abilities.

Morwen

Morwen

Race: Human, Shield Maiden of Rohan
Weapon of Choice: Two axes

Morwen is your standard woman-bent-on-revenge. After her village was destroyed by a band of raging Uruk-Hai, this strong Rohan citizen vowed to find her family and kill the orcs that have caused her so much harm. With two small axes and attacks that rival many others, this young lady is truly an asset.

Idrial is the second-to-last character you meet, joining your party shortly after you visit her burning village. She is incredibly strong-willed, and will let nothing stand in the way of her mission. Morwen is best at physical attacks, though does fairly well for herself in magic.

Eaoden

Eaoden

Race: Human, Rohirrim Soldier
Weapon of Choice: Spear

Shortly after meeting Morwen, Berethor and the gang are given the task of aiding a number of Elves and Rohirrim in killing some Uruk-Hai. Eaoden is one of these Rohirrim. With spear at-the-ready, this horseback rider is able to deal devastating damage to any number of enemies.

Eaoden is the last character you meet. His full mission is unknown, but it is clear that he wishes to help those in need. He is incredibly powerful both physically and magically, being able to use his spear to deal damage by ignoring armor, and to suck the health right out of enemies.
